Anyone else's spouse think they are a pool nerd?

So, my new "Circupool RJ30+ salt water chlorine gen-er-ray-tor"(said in a marvin the martian voice) arrived today. I was very excited to see the UPS man driver it. When i brought it in and immediately opened the box, explaining the parts to my wife and how it works, she said, "oh my god, you're such a pool nerd, now."

So... Anyone else a pool nerd, now?

Kinda drives my wife nuts with my pool OCD-ness. I always remind her that my obsession with maintaining the pool is a labor of love that benefits HER pool!

I have been informed by my family that i my pool too much lol
However they seem happy to swim in said pool & comment negatively when they see/visit other obviously non tfp pools.
As with most things involved with motherhood they will likely appreciate my efforts one day when they are tasked with similar work themselves.

yes, i tell my wife my pool is filthy
she stands their looking at it and cant see a thing
then i point out the tiny bit of dust in the back corner
she rolls her eyes and walks off

100%. My 7-year-old daughter also recognizes the TFP website on my phone. She’ll come over by me - “Trouble Free Pool?”

Yes, my wife thinks I'm crazy for testing every day. She admits, the pool is much better now, than when I followed the advice from the pool store. She just thinks it's overkill to test every day & she thinks using the K2006 instead of the dip sticks.

That's OK, I am a Crazy guy, with an amazing pool, thanks to TFP.

My husband is excited for the pool but I too am obsessed as I wait for the build to be done! Love this place and probably chime in wayyy too often.

Yep. My gf had a pool before and let a pool service take care of it. So she thinks it's only necessary to do stuff to the pool once a week or the day before you plan on swimming. She thinks testing and adding chlorine each day is way overkill. But of course nobody is complaining about the crystal clear water

All I know is that if algae gets in the pool and my wife can’t use it, I have to sleep with one eye open… At least she doesn’t call me a pool nerd and she let me buy a salt water generator and a variable speed pump and two robots.. and a speed stir….

Hahaha, I can relate to that! We refer to my testing as "here we are at the Muppet Labs"! I wear the name proudly and then point to my TFP clear pool. Last laugh is the best laugh.

My wife is used to it. I'm cursed with a curiosity that doesn't quit. If there's a widget to be had, it must also be understood. Couple that with a tinkerer's hands, and an "if someone else can do it, I can do it" attitude, with a nice scoop of perfectionism thrown on top, and ... yeah.

My kids are awesome though, they truly believe anything they can dream up Dad can build.
