Any permanent fix for frequent skimmer leaks?

Every year there is a new leak between the tiles in my skimmer. I guess this is caused by the erosion of the rapid water flow in that area. These leaks are easy to find and fix, but I would like to find a more permanent solution. Is there something that I could coat the whole skimmer with to stop the leaks for good? Or is that some plastic shield made to go over the skimmer tiles?

When the water goes down quickly I know there is a leak somewhere. I use a few drops of food color in the water to find out exactly where the leak is.
