i am looking for the right tool to scoop all the debris out of the skimmer vs sticking my hand in sight unseen. A fine mesh to remove fine particle floating after you remove basket....

what is best to use ?

R,

I use an aquarium net like revitup... They work great.

I also have a duplicate set of skimmer baskets with hairnets already installed.. This way I can just remove the dirty one and install a new one without letting anything get into my filter..

Thanks,

Jim R.
Brilliant idea

I alway explain to my wife why I get two of everything at Sams Club...why not have an extra set of skimmer baskets 👍

I use tongs for leaves and a fish catching net for the rest. (The net is the blue one pet stores use to scoop out goldfish.) I use a modified golf club shaft to lift off the skimmer lid and stir the muck around a bit before I kneel down. Too many critters find their way in there. Dead or alive, I run for help.
