Antifreeze cost

Trying to plan for closing my pool in October. was looking for antifreeze on Amazon and was seeing it for $14-$25 a gallon. Went to my local Ocean State Job Lot and they have it for $4 a gallon. Why is there such a discrepancy in cost? COVID strikes again?

Shipping the 8+ lbs per gallon. It will be similar if you try to ship any liquid. Many stores don’t even offer it because nobody pays the extra

That makes sense as shipping was amazon prime, so included in cost. Didn’t even think of that.

"Pool" and "marine" anti-freeze (or anything) demands a premium. Buy "plumbers" or "RV" anti-freeze - same stuff, often at a lower price.
In this case, though, I think it's shipping.

Heck yeah !!! You say ‘pool’ or ‘marine’ anything and it’s double or more the price. Lol.

Lowe’s is my go to for RV antifreeze when the time comes. $2something a jug. Woohoo
