When I opened 8 days ago, I had 2 pump leaks. The one drain cap leak seemed to stop on its own. The other one was between the motor and pump. it wasn’t terrible - but enough to definitely wet the platform. After 8;days, it’s now just leaking slightly. One drop every 3 1/2 - 4 minutes so slight. I wouldn’t even notice it now if I wasn’t actively monitoring it since it was worse days ago.

I had a leak last year after opening - couldn’t be ignored - and I had my service company replace the seals. The first time they did it, it still leaked and they came back a week later to redo it. That was last June.

Given the leak has slowed down considerably - but not yet stopped - I’m wondering if I should have the seals replaced again? This is the 5th season for the pump motor. I’m not super confident the service company did a great job - maybe they didnt lube it right or touched one of the seals. I’m tempted to do it myself but the motor is in such a bad spot, you need to be a contortionist to get at it.

Should I just let it go for now ?

You should never let a pump water leak go for too long. Eventually the seal effected will either rupture completely resulting in total failure, or if the leak was due to something relatively small, could result in rust or additional water damage resulting in a complete motor replacement. It's shame the tech last year had to come back out a second time. Weird things happen I know, but it just makes one feel skeptical as to whether or not their second attempt was all that good either. I suspect either a shaft seal or seal plate is leaking.
