Another Newb to Pool Care

You can hunt and peck.

You can also use pool math "effects of adding" to see what your current output is in FC, adjust % and runtime to lower the expected FC output.

I just played with the SWG settings again and found that combo. It did't seem like other settings would generate the settings. I just dropped it to 10-hours and 60%. I'm going to check FC tonight to see where it's at then go from there tomorrow. Thank you.

OK, you are not trying to find the same results with other combos.

You are to get your results with current combo. Say it is adding 4.5FC.
You raised 2FC over 2 days, so you want a combo that will add 3.5FC.
Make sense?

We are all in the highest UV lost part of the season. You may have to dose over target to remain free and clear above min after the sun does its thing.

Soon the daily loss will start slooooooowly falling and when you miss an adjustment time, you made too much FC and it's a GREAT 'problem" to have. There will be no swamps when you're a little high, but still far under SLAM FC. This is a terrific time to learn a SWG.

I do understand now. I was also not sure what I was solving for originally. SWG%, Pump Hours or FC. That makes complete sense when solving for FC added per day. Thank you.

I get it. Right now I have the luxury of letting FC drift down slowly and catching the trend. My CYA is still coming up I think. I am now reading around 40 with FC at 12.5. And it's been really hot here in NH this past week. I'm glad to be high on the FC scale. It's suprising how fast I went from almost no FC to over once I got the CYA up.

I bumped my CYA Saturday and picked up +2 FC per day no longer lost.

Most of us see the FC loss climb before we ever realize the CYA dipped. (Once you're at one with everything and your own pools Zen Master).

With the heat we’ve been having, I find I need more FC than usual. Be careful not to let it drop too much. I’m targeting FC of 10 with CYA at 70.

Edit, I’d reduce run time or %, not both right now. If FC doesn’t go down enough, reduce the other.
