My pool was rather dirty due to a cover mishap over the winter and my water was nearly black.
I have vacuumed till virtually no more debris is coming up and have put in my CYA /Muriatic acid to get the balance to a fair starting point and have been adding 2-3 gallons of fresh 10% liquid shock per day for the last 4 days.
The water has gotten really foamy and I have not had this happen before.

Readings with TFT Kit
FC 6.5

CYA 60

Any ideas on the foam

Got a pH reading? Any CH in the water?

Have you been using pool liquid shock, or bleach from the market? No Clorox bleach or bleach with polymers I hope?
Did you put ANY thing else in the water, like algaecide?

Some green pools get foam. I have no idea what causes it, but it's not uncommon to see pictures of pale green scuzz on the surface.

Your clearing would go a whole lot faster if you brought the FC up to shock level per FC/CYA Levels. And it's too late now, but it would have been easier to do it at 30 CYA, then you raise it to 60 later. Next year.
