Am I in the right spot

Hello, I just joined the forum and after looking around a bit I am not sure if I am in the right spot or not. I have a question about pool cleaning as a business?. Is there a section on here for that or can anyone suggest a forum that has that sort of information?. Thanks in advance for any help!.

Welcome to TFP!

Well there's really not a section for that. We are a forum to teach a method of pool care generally for owners to take care of their own pools. That said, all the chemistry is the same so there might be plenty to learn in that regard. But generally our methods of care do not equate well to service companies.

I think this spot is as good as any, as most of our member are here because of pool cleaning businesses, and now maintain their own pools using the TFP Pool Care Process.

We do have a few members who are in the pool business that might be able to point you in the right direction.

Also, there are a few that have adapted TFPC methods to a business model. It's probably not very profitable, but some folks like to be active and enjoy the company of others.

Thanks guys, here is my question. I am trying to come up with a percentage guideline on running a pool cleaning business. What percent is generally spent on labor, marketing, chemicals, etc. The only numbers I have been able to find so far are that overhead is about 20% but that is very vague as to what overhead all includes. If any of you ran a pool cleaning business I would love to hear a breakdown.
