Alternative to Bioguard filter cleaner?

At closing I’ve been using this cleaner to clean the DE filter grids since 2004.

It’s been working fine, but I wonder if there’s a cheaper alternative I can use (washing soda? TSP? Other?)?

If they are standard nylon grids then simply hosing them off is more than enough. If they are “limed up” (incorrect usage of the word lime, but the industry has never been too worried about precision), then soaking them in dilute MA is the trick. If you’re trying to get them back to pearly white, then TSP + bleach will do that (the mixture is on the TSP box for heavy duty cleaning). TSP can be found in the paint section of hardware stores, just make sure it’s really TSP and not a “green” substitute.

I've never used anything but water and a pressure nozzle to clean my grids.

Thanks. I’ve never noticed any mineral deposits on the grids, so this time I’ll just hose them off like y’all suggested.
