Alkalinity v PH

I’m having trouble with higher than desired Alkalinity. Has been as high as 100 this week, all while my PH is in the mid 7s. So I added Muriatic Acid and then my PH is lowered as well as Alkalinity. How do I deal with this imbalance. What’s more important?

PH is more important.

TA is the least important chemical as long as it is above 50.

Keep your pH in the 7’s and your TA will lower over time unless you have high TA fill water.

What is the pH and TA of your fill water?

Great thought - the pH is 7.2 and TA is 130. That might explain this and I suppose I’ll always be fighting higher TA.
