Should I care that my alkalinity is always high, 120-140? but my CSI is in a good range. We have well water that is very alkaline. I am adding 5cups of muriatic acid when my ph gets back up to 78, which is usually on day 3. I can get my alkalinity down to 80 or 90, but it usually takes weeks of dosing with acid every 3 days and aerating. Not to mention the high cost of muriatic acid now @ $10 a gal. If it rains at all, I have to start all over since the rain will always raise it again. It's almost spring so I'm sure we will be getting a lot of rain soon. It just seems like an endless battle. Is there a range I don't want my alkalinity to go over? Pool math says 60-90 is acceptable, but these are ranges I can't seem to stick to.

Also should I be adding more or less acid each time? I am adding 5 cups,

PH: 7.6
TA: 120
CH: 150
CYA: 30
CSI: -0.2
