We still can’t get rid of algae. Brush and vacuum, backwash,etc. here are my current numbers:

CC .5
CH 225
TA 70
CYA 40
Ph 8.2
Salt 3600

we want to close and cover pool but need to get it straightened out. What should we do and in what order?

Also, make sure you remove and scrub the ladders, light niches, skimmer door, and all those little places algae love to hide.

do I turn off the swg while slamming? Also, I have a built in ladder. I don’t believe I can remove it.

At the start it is best to turn off the SWCG.

If the ladder can fill with water, it likely has algae in it.

The SLAM process works. Just stay with it and complete it. You will be happy you did when this is all over. It took me a good whole week and I almost gave up but I’m glad with all the support and advice I was able to pass the SLAM test and pool has been amazing ever since.
