I have a ~30k gallon pool w/ Nautilus NSS-48 DE filter. I'm a newish pool owner, still learning. I've managed to let the pool go during past winters and reopen in spring and get it clear again. This year it's been tough. The pool is blue, fairly balanced using the pool strips, but it's really cloudy. I've ran the pool filter multiple days, maybe weeks, and have opened up the filter probably 5 times to clean each grid. I put in the recommended amount of DE powder. I keep experiencing the PSI rising and the filter getting clogged. It starts at about 20 psi and rises to 30 pretty quickly. I backwash, then repeat the process. It seems like I have an algae problem. FC drops quickly. There's a lot of organic material and fine particles floating in the pool. We had a really bad pollen year and gnarly storms. I've tried exchanging a lot of water. Water is still cloudy. I've been trying the SLAM process the last couple days. I also ordered some pre-filter skimmer socks to see if that helps. Any thoughts on how to get the pool clear and treat? Does it seem like I'm on the right track? Pictures attached. Thanks.

Welcome to TFP!!!

Your pool likely has algae. You should follow the SLAM process to clear the pool. Link-->SLAM Process
You may be backwashing a lot.
How are you testing your water?
(no pics attached).
Hey thanks for getting back. Yes backwashing a lot. I test it with the aquachek pool strips. I have a pool master 5 way test kit as well, but it's from 2018 and I think the indicators may be expired. Also uploaded a pic of the pool. I'll keep following the SLAM process. Thanks.

SLAM.
You cannot slam safely without a proper kit, you may do damage to your pool and equipment. Here is what we recommend...Link-->Test Kits Compared
I would stop the SLAM until you get a proper kit, and add 3ppm of liquid chlorine a day until it arrives. Nothing else.
Take that ladder out, scrub inside and out.
