I had another bout with algae, which was mind-boggling at 72 degree water temp, running the pump about 9 hours a day, and FC of 10 (my CYA is still a bit low -- takes so long to get it up with dry conditioner), but alas, it happened. I was out of town, so my SLAM this week has not been text book, but it did appear "complete" last night, and I realized I had a cover that probably had residual algae on it. My problem was with very light algae. I guess technically, I didn't pass my OCLT, so maybe I'm not quite complete anyway.
The pool reel and my yard size doesn't really allow for hosing the bottom of the cover off, so I put it back in the pool last night to be SLAM'd along with the pool for the night.
Question:
(1) should I continue at SLAM levels another day or two to make sure the cover algae is gone? No CC this morning.
(2) any other recs?
(3) when the SLAM is 100% complete, do I have to clean my cartridge filters or not?
Thanks,
Ryan
