I am 19 days post slam. My FC target is 7-9..Min of 5...The lowest I have been to is 6.0. I noticed yesterday 3 spots about 2" long at the bottom glass block window line inside my spa that were greenish. I drained spa as I was planning to clean around light and lower spa inlets. I scrubbed areas with brush and hit with a spray of chlorine. I removed floating debris (very small) after with pool net. I cleaned lower portion of spa walls with 33% MA wash as I think I have minimum scaling. I filtered remaining spa water returning to spa only, then refilled spa and filtered spa only water for about an hour. I added chlorine last night to raise to 10 and did & passed OCLT this AM. Pool is still amazingly clear. After pump started today, I noticed a cluster of "stuff" around the main drain..looked puffy...I switched to pool vac and used Pole on vac to suck up the debris. This is the ONLY debris I have seen in the pool in 19 days!

Sooo...I'm believing algae in spa started due to minimal circulation in there as I have been returning water to split spa/pool.

Since I did have algae, but my FC has never been at or below minimum since I completed SLAM, can I assume that since I passed OCLT and have maintained FC at target levels that this was just a result of the 3 spots in the spa and my proper FC level killed it and I most likely will not have an issue moving forward? I have never had any CC since SLAM was completed 5/28.

Even though FC is in target range, algae can still grow if areas of low circulation? This seems obvious since I in fact found it. I just was not expecting to find it since my FC level has been maintained. I do check it daily..most days morning and night as I am still learning my pool.

My most current full test.

Have you done a OCLT since discovering the Algae? If not, I would do one tonight. If you pass continue normal maintenance levels, and keep an eye out.

I had the same thing happen, I noticed that the pool had lost it's sparkle, and that I had 'something' accumulating on the floor every day despite never falling to min FC. Luckily I caught it quick and SLAM was only a couple of days.

Now I brush every few of days (vs every couple of weeks), and vacuum much more often. No problems so far!

yes...I found the green in grout line yesterday morning..did the OCLT last night and was NO loss. I did lose yesterday but had partially sunny day..so I'm assuming between the sun and the algae...FC was consumed yesterday. FC dropped from 9 - 7.5 yesterday so I upped it to 10 last night.
