Hi all!

This is my first time posting on the forums:)

I am actually writing in search of some help regarding my aunts pool, this is her second year owning a pool and she is considering getting rid of it completely because of the algae problem.

2 weeks ago we had a very bad case of Algae from keeping the solar cover on for too long. She had gotten rid of the algae with "shock" but then our pool turned white and cloudy (looked like lemonade) so she used floc and then did the vacuum to waste. Our pool turned crystal clear afterwards and we were relieved as we thought the problem was over.

Cut to this week and the algae is back and we are not sure how. She had washed all the equipment and pool toys with bleach including the solar cover. She is not sure what to do and its causing her extreme distress. I had read a bit about SLAM and printed the pages out for us, we are looking online today for a testing kit as she has been relying on the pool store for her testing. I have added below pictures of the pool and the most previous testing report done by the pool store. This is my first time on here so please let me know if I am missing any information.

Thank you so much!

Pool store testing can be very inaccurate and isn't trusted at TFP. You are on the right track with the SLAM method. The Taylor K2006c I think is the easiest recommended test kit to get in Canada.

In the mean time you can download Pool Math, enter your pool information and add 3-4 ppm of LC to your pool every day until your test kit arrives. This will keep the algae from getting worse. Once you get the test kit, post a full set of results here and someone can give you more specific advice on what should be done next.
