Every morning when my brother's (he's not on this site) pool pump turns on he says there is a lot of air in the lines. A lot of air coming through the pump and jets. After a short while, all the air goes away and all is normal. He says he sees no leaks and his water level is fine. Any ideas what is causing this? Thanks.

I suspect that when you turn the pump off at night, all the water in the pump basket drains back into the pool, which it should not. This indicates that air is getting in somewhere.
Just like sticking your thumb over the end of a straw will hold the water in the straw, and removing your thumb will let the water rush out, without air getting in, the water in the pump basket should just stay there.

Clean and lube the o-ring on the filter basket lid. If there are no air bubbles in the pump basket (after priming) while the pump is running, it's likely a pressure side leak. Some common culprits are the air relief valve on the top of the filter, pump and filter unions, and drain plugs on pumps and heaters. These components have o-rings, which are wear items and deteriorate over time.
If there were any recent changes to the plumbing, check joints.
Pressure side leaks should leak water when the pump is on, but leaks may be very small and hard to find. Check for wet spots and damp areas. You may be able to hear air being sucked into the plumbing when the pump is off, as water drains back to the pool.

Pump lid O-Ring and the Filter air relief valve. Both can let air in and not let water out.
