Well, the dolphin E30 finally quit on me, 2 1/2 years is all I got out of her. Emailed Margaret @ Marina, never heard back from her so I just chalked it up to a loss. Really always hated that cord anyways. Decided to jumper on the Aiper discount combo for the Surfer S1 and the Scuba S1. Surfer got here Friday. Charged her up, dropped her in the pool and watched her work. Excitement was short lived. She ran, according to the app until about 5am the next morning. I waited patiently as the rising sun should've started re-charging her batteries. Around lunchtime I realized it wasn't happening, according to the app anyways. Checked troubleshooting out on the app and dropped them an email. Quite surprised to receive an AI generated response rather quickly. Tried all their recommended troubleshooting tips and the last one was to pull her out and manually re-charge her. She charged to 98% in about and hour and a half. Dropped her in the pool again and off she went. Within an hour or so, I pulled out the app and checked her battery, she was holding in the sunlight. Checked a little while later and had received a failure warning that she was stuck and needed help. Looked outside and she was just going about her business as normal. Tried to clear the failure, but never could.

Long story short, 2 issues in less than 48 hours. She's going back. I've went ahead and ordered the Betta SE Plus and will see if she does any better. Scary thing is wondering if I'll face the same technical issues with the Scuba... I really want a cordless pool vac. Loved the Dolphin when it was running, but 2.5 years longevity doesn't cut it with me.

Flip side, I sold the non-running Dolphin as parts for $100 in about 24 hours on Marketplace.

Here is a very long thread of discussion on Aiper robots. it would be good to link your review to this older thread
Thx Herman - had been following that thread for a while but the opinions were kind of all over the place. Some like it, some don't - some keep it, some don't. Just wanted to put my two cents out there to possibly help someone else trying to make the decision. As with all electronics mixing with water, I guess it's just a crapshoot. Really want it to work, but not holding my breath :)
