Aiper Seagull Pro Review

My Seagull Pro is still going strong at 1 year. The first one I got was a dud, but exchange happened easily. Still charges in slightly more than 2 hours, runs for 3. Seldom misses anything on the floor (that's mostly what I run), but does good on walls too. I had to modify rear wheels by 1/4" so it wouldn't get stick on drains. Waiting for finer filter to be released, it's the only negative I have. I don't like the top knob, but it works (with some force). I'd buy the newer model if this bites the dust.

Do you think they will release a finer filter?
 
I have found that for our area the standard filter works for finer dust and debris if you empty the basket between cleanings but dont rinse/clean it. figured this out by accident on a particularly lazy week lol

Aiper Scuba S1 Review

Just called customer service. They don’t have an ultra fine filter for the Scuba (yet). I’ve noticed that the fine silt isn’t trapped inside the filter. The floor looks clean after the scuba does its job but the next morning I see the same amount of silt on the floor again so I guess it’s...

I thought the 250um filter was going to be finer, it's actually coarser. Don't expect Aiper to come out with anything finer, very disappointed. My bad for not researching it more.

Scuba S1 won't handle sand well? My biggest cleaning is going to be sand/pollen because I'm caged in so no worries about leafs or other debris.

Both have a 180um filter. Picks up sand fine. Just doesn't get silt/dead algae. But since it stirs up the water a lot, it eventually gets filtered out at the main DE or sand filter. I thought it odd the cheaper versions (E1) have a second 3um filter, but they require flat bottom above ground pool (supposedly).

I tried this and it did not work for me. I think my drain covers are a little higher - maybe 7/8" or so. What finally worked for me was to 3D print a couple of "skids" and fix them to the bottom of the robot using Gorilla mounting strips. Just one skid was not enough, but two worked like a charm. Even though I finally fixed the issue, I feel like Aiper was no help at all.

I just bought the Aiper Scuba when my Pentair Prowler 920 died in year 5. Couldn’t justify spending so much to replace. The only thing I’m frustrated with is the filter like has been mentioned. My prowler used to pick up all the dirt/dust in the bottom of our pool and the Aiper does not. I tried lining with the aquarium filter that someone mentioned and it’s ok but thinking maybe I can makeshift with the following (which was similar to the prowler) if I can remove from the frames. Anyone try anything like this? I have a vinyl liner.

Just replaced the filter material with approx. 60 micron (250 mesh). It's much finer than the 250 micron basket that I recently bought, and now modified (original is 180 micron). Have not run it yet, waiting for the superglue gel to be good and dry. I left the lid at 250 micron for now to make sure there was enough flow.

I removed the bottom, then used an exacto to cut out the old material. Used SG gel to glue the 4 side pieces. Took less than an hour. Will do a trial run later today.

60 micron is probably too fine, 80-100 would be a good number. It definitely got the silt from the bottom! If I had put 60 micron on the cover, it probably wouldn't have enough suction. I'll probably use the standard 180, then this maybe every 4th time.

So this was my second season with the Seagull Pro, issue I have is when wall cleaning it would summersault off the wall in the shallow end. Emailed Aiper they said shallow end need to be minimum of 31" mine is always between 34 and 36 so not the issue they are sending me a new cleaner with supposed updated firmware that resolves this issue. We shall see if it helps. Anyone else have this issue? Also I might have to do the @tcat wheel modification because it gets stuck on main drain frequently.

No issue with my 38" wall, other than getting "stuck" at the small corner on my kidney shaped pool. I have to start it left of my steps so it goes around the pool clockwise until it gets back to that corner. Then I move out a foot and it goes around again. I seldom do walls, so doesn't bother me.

I'd be interested in what a software update does. I'm very happy with the 60 micron filter cloth I added. It gets about 1/2" of silt each time I run it that the 180 micron doesn't get.

I am also interested in the software update or if they are blowing smoke. The cloth you added will probably be on my to do list because most of what I get in the pool is super fine silt. I will report back when it gets here next week.
