Hey all.

When I opened the pool this year I noticed the top rail wasnt exactly flat and level anymore near the skimmer. Now that I've had time to actually look it, it appears the upright has come unhooked from the bottom resin plate and forced the top rail off the edge of the pool.

What needs to be done to fix this?

When I push down on the top plate, the upright slides up and down freely about 1/4-1/2".

Take pics and post them of that bottom boot. The top track never does want to sit nicely over the bolted portion of the wall. It never did for me n I've put several pools.

Everything above this line looks like the real issue. You have plastic strips that holds your liner in place. That moved up and off the edge of the pool and took the stabilizer bar with it. You need to take the post off and not only look at the bottom boot to check it but also remove that top plate so you can pop the stabilizer bar up n off. You can do this with a hammer (lightly tapping it or a rubber mallet) Push the plastic strip back over the wall and push your stabilizer bar back down and reassemble the post. You should be good to go.

I don't have an answer to why this happened but your pool looks like it's the same as the one I just installed.
The bottom plate is barbed and just snaps into the upright. I wasn't able to pull them out when I needed to so there's a chance yours has had the barbs snapped off.

That said......I'm curious about something else. Your top rails, were they screwed into the top connectors using the original holes in the plates? When I went to install mine every inner hole was completely blocked by the stablizer bars.

Got it fixed! Thanks Casey

I inspected the bottom boot, it's not broken so thats also good.

Cj, we didnt assemble our pool, paid someone to do it. But to answer your question, we found 1 screw that was drove through the top rail...It was snapped off and the screw you see above replaced it.

I can see what your saying about the holes covering part of the rail though.

Off to the hardware store for new screws then meijer for some CYA.

THANKS AGAIN!!!

That is fantastic news.
Any idea why it happened?

How long ago was the pool installed?
