Hi
After installing a through wall skimmer with 2 inch pipe, do I still need that second inlet hole for water flow or can i plug/seal it?

I am using a pool cartridge filter/pump that will pump it up to solar on roof.
I know I will need to at least temporarily (and maybe permenently) plug the second inlet hole for there to be enough suction for the wall skimmer to clean effectively correct?

Im wondering if it will put to much strain on my pump over time to only have one two inch pipe via the wall skimmer supplying water or if I need the second one plumbed as well for better water flow and strain on the pump

thanks!

It depends on how much debris you get in the pool and if there is a chance that the skimmer would plug up with debris. An equalizer port put into the sidewall can help prevent this. I suspect you already have a port in the side of the pool? You would just need a line to the skimmer and an equalizer valve in the skimmer.
