After changing sand in filter.... sand in pool....

Maybe they replaced the part with the wrong part, hard to tell.

I would replace it with the correct part.

I got around to starting the replacement this morning and the replacement part is only 1/2" taller than the one I already had .... 30" vs. 29.5" ...

Not sure what to make of that.

Anyway, to make sure I get this installed correctly, I think I've gathered that once I've set the new lateral assembly I need to:

-Add some water to the filter
-Add back the sand
-Re-install the multi-port valve
-Do a full backwash and rinse cycle

Anything else I need to pay attention to?? Thanks.

Be gentle when adding the sand - you don’t want to accidentally crack the laterals. Also, did u inspect them? Cover the stand pipe so no sand gets in it.
