In an effort to save AC costs this Summer, I ordered a Pentair Variable Speed pump. Fortunately, my home came with a Motorized Vinyl Pool Cover so I usually don't have any debris on the pool surface. The Pentair pump uses a factory setting that initially runs at 3000 rpm for the first 2 hours (to push surface debris to the skimmer) and then backs down to 1400 rpm for the next 10 hours.
Question: If I'm basically filtering clear water, what would be a good daily setting (rpm and time length) to save electricity but also have a clean pool?
