Adding salt, but it's not registering

Last week I added 20 pounds of salt, as the pool math app suggested. I shut off the SWG and ran the pool for 24 hours. Then, after turning it back on the Hayward hand-held, as well as my Taylor salt test showed the same (2600). What would cause adding salt and it not registering salt in the pool? Because of this, I have had to add a considerable amount of bleach. Thank you

That amount of salt in your 16K gallon pool is about 150 ppm. That is within the error range of your test kit.

What target level of salinity ppm are you shooting for?

I am shooting for 3000

I would add another 40-60 lbs of salt and then retest. As you are in Florida you will get rain and some washout occasionally.

Is your SWCG operational now? What is your pool water temperature?

Thank you for helping me. Pool temp is 70* right now. I believe the SWG is operational. I generally get an error message on the Hayward hand-held if it is malfunctioning.
