Adding a second layer of plywood to the pool wall

Have never seen anyone mention it. What type of above ground pool? What would be the purpose for the plywood?

Plywood can be an option for an inground pool only because it is also supported by the earth. Even still, not a great option.
But its a no go for an above ground pool.
Sounds like this pool has lived its life. 20 years for an above ground pool is a good run.

After 20-plus years, the walls were getting weak. A pool guy suggested the additional plywood. It seems like it did the trick. But he cut the new sheets about 3" narrower than the originals and I don't know why.
I'm hoping someone on here can shed some light on the subject.
Thanks,
Joe

Pics would go a long way here. Even if the plywood is buried we'd still get a better idea of everything else.

Yes, it's pressure treated plywood but my original question was if anyone has had experience with this type of a repair.
Someone requested pix but these don't tell you much because the work is done and the pool has been refilled.
Check out that huge bird on the back railing!Screenshot_20240611-175917.pngScreenshot_20240611-175747.png

Instantly it looks like a semi inground, and nothing like I was expecting with your 1st post. (y)

How high out of the ground is it ? Can you get pics under the deck ?

Ok great. Getting a much better idea. Get us several pics underneath so we can see how it's supported.

Well the framing would sure be nice to see. But with so very little to go on, it's impossible to help you.

So far, we have 'is a one of a kind repair to a nearly one of a kind pool ok ?'

I for one, would be too busy playing lotto if I was psychic. 🤷‍♂️

So it sounds like you’ve already had the work done, just wanted to see if anyone else around here has done same? As I mentioned, I’ve never seen anyone mention before.

Did you ask the guy who did the work why he cut the boards smaller?

That is quite a large bird!

If he followed the original design with the same quality material I would assume its ok. May want to call & ask since they boast a lifetime warranty.
Very interesting - this was the first place to pop up

I specifically asked if anyone had experience with adding a second layer of plywood wall to an above ground pool.
Since you do not, you should not have weighed in.
