Hi There,
I’m on Day 7 of my opening SLAM, trying to clear up some cloudiness (mesh winter cover and a sand filter are a slow combo). I’ve vacuumed out the visible sludge from the bottom but the water isn’t quite clear yet. This afternoon I added DE to my sand filter. Following the TFP guide, I added DE until my pressure increased from 17 (post-backwash baseline) to 18.5 PSI. After 6 hours, it’s now at 22. I’d normally backwash by now. Should I backwash before going to sleep? I’m hesitant to leave it running overnight in case the pressure increases a lot more. What’s the rule of thumb for backwashing after adding DE?
