Our inground, gunite pool with Stonescapes mini pebble interior was finished a few months ago. We have an attached hot tub that is not raised, so the coping is level all the way around. Our problem is that the PB did not put a stair inside the spa, so it's a straight drop to the seating, which is quite a way down especially for our older friends and family. Is there any way we can put in a step without additional construction? We do have a handrail that does a lot of work helping us get into and out of the hot tub.

Yes it can be done, anything can be done.. How much it will cost will be the question and I am afraid it will be a lot... Get with the pool builder and ask them.. they will have to chip out the plaster where the new stair will go. pour a new stair and then plaster it afterwards...
