Is it ok to add muriatic acid while the heater is running?

Daughter’s 5th bday party today and we are warming up the pool for the kids but thanks to a torrential storm last night I’ve got some last minute water balancing to take care of.

(no experience) I think as long as you do not pour the MA directly over/in an inlet to pump (drain or skimmer), it might be ok

Pour the MA in a pencil size stream at a return into the pool with the pump running. For better mixing, brush the area vigorously.

No need to drop pH below 7.6.

Sure. The water circulates through the heater whether or not it's on, so it's no different than usual except that the heater is running.
