Actuator Issue..help, please!

Hello All,
I’m not sure if this is the right thread but I discovered my actuator isn’t working properly this morning which is messing with my pool chemistry. It appears whatever is wrong with the actuator is reducing flow
to my IntelliChlor40 and acid dispenser. I can’t get the actuator out of service mode and when I have tried to move the valve while in service mode it just clicks then looks like the attached photo. Any suggestions?

How old is your pool and equipment?

If your pool is under warranty make a warranty claim.

Not much you can do with an Intellivalve that will not turn except replace it. I recommend you replace it with a standard actuator which is more reliable. In the meantime you can remove the Intellivalve from the actuator by removing the four screws that hold it down. You should have the actuator handle you can put on the valve and turn it manually until you get a new actuator.

The IntelliValves are not well sealed and get water inside that corrodes the motor. You can read Intellivalve Autopsy for what one member found. Putting silicone around the seam of the Intellivalve can prevent water intrusion and corrosion of the motor.

Thank you so much for your advice and the link. My pool is only 10months since completion and this is the second time one of my actuators has gone out. I was hoping it was something I could troubleshoot but everything I’ve read I have tried. Contacting the pool company now…thank you!!
