Actual Output of Intellichlor IC40

Has anyone attempted (or is there a source somewhere) to measure the actual real-world output of chlorine from the IC40? I know there are a lot of variables, but even something rough like, "at 30GPM with a 50% production setting, 1oz of chlorine is produced per hour" or some thing like that.

I'm trying to fine tune the setting on my pool and tonight, for example, the FC had dropped to 3 when my minimum is 3 and target 5 per the FC/CYA chart (my CYA is about 75). I know 3 is OK, but on the low side. It would be cool if there was a formula for how much chlorine is produced so I can roughly calculate needed amounts.

TIA

Pentair states that the IC40 will create 1.4 lb of chlorine gas per day at 100%. I have found mine to be quite accurate with that rate of production.

You can use SWG Run Time Calculator to help nail down a pump run time and SWCG % setting to create a certain amount of FC in your pool size. I would suggest you start with using 3 ppm FC per day and see if that works. Adjust up or down as necessary.

Holy smokes, that's exactly what I was looking for. Thanks for the link. I slammed my pool a couple weeks back and measured FC daily with the SWG off. It floated down at about 2ppm per day over many sunny and warm days. It isn't linear, I know, but a good starting ballpark and somewhat conservative since the demand tends to slow as ppm decreases, IIRC. Cool calculator.
