It can be used to estimate the amount of acid you would need to add to lower your pH to the given level. Or like most of us you just use PoolMath enter your current pH enter your desired pH along with the other parameters like TA Etc and it will tell you how much acid to add
ah, I have problems looking at the colors for PH and determining where they are on the scale. Would this be something that would help me? I never hardly use the CL side of my test kit because I am not good with determining the color. I use my powder daily to test for now as I still am new to this all. I feel like when the CL is maybe 3 maybe 4, my powder is more accurate.
The acid demand can be kind of useful because then you can add drops until you see a color that matches, say orange 7.5. But you are still relying on matching up a color for the endpoint. And then you use the number of drops it took to calculate the amount of acid that should be added.
