Hello! We have an 11,000 gallon gunite pool in Central Florida and have a local company who services the pool every week. Each week they send us a summary of the tasks they’ve completed, along with the chemistry. This is what they sent us this week:
Completed Checklist Items:
Brushing
Skim
Clean Tile
Clean Baskets
Measures:
Chlorine 0.5
pH 8
Total Alkalinity 100
Cyanuric Acid 70
Treatments:
Chlorine Liquid 3 Gallon
Muriatic Acid 1 Quart
Completion Notes:

24 hours later, and this is the chemistry reading we got from the local pool supply store:

Free Chlorine1 - 4 ppm15
Total ChlorineWithin 0.2 of FAC15
7.2 - 7.8÷ 7.9
Total Alkalinity80 - 120 ppm91*
Calcium Hardness200 - 400 ppm176
Cyanuric Acid30 - 100 ppm75
iron0 - 0.2 ppm0.1
Copper0 - 0.2 ppm0.1
Phosphates0 - 100 ppb483

Something isn’t adding up to me. Would adding 3 gallons of liquid chlorine cause the chlorine to go from 0.5 to 15?! This has been a common occurrence and they said they don’t believe the pool store reading.

Hey KF !!!!

Download PoolMath and you can play around with any parameter.

You either lost half the FC in a day and have problems, or the pool store test only goes to 15 and they don't know it. Lol.

How'd you like to never see any of them ever again ? We can save you a small fortune.
