I am considering a installing a salt water system but looking while I was looking at some reviews I seen a video saying that these systems are a bad idea for metal above ground pools. If this true just looking for some input from people who have these systems and if so have you had issues with rust and what system woiuld be best. I am considereing the hayword aquatrol

I have don't know what brand my pool is to research further.

I have had my Intex on SWG for the past 8 years.. it has some rust on the exposed metals but I think most have the same rust... All metal will rust, some take longer than others...

Also, all pools are salt water pools, so please measure your salt level before adding salt, if you have not emptied your pool I bet the salt level is over 1500 right now :)

Get a SWG at least 2 times the size of your pool.. I have 15k of water and a 45k SWG...

I feel the same my pool is already 6 years old and has some rust. I do recall something about the panel where the filter hooks up being stainless steel but the rest is just sheet metal.
