I've got the Coleman branded Best way 16 by 42 inch power steel above ground pool. It's been up for 2 weeks and I've got way more questions than answers on how to keep it up and running for the summer.
Here's my set-up: it's on a concrete pad (basketball court) but is surrounded by mature trees and blocked on one side by our house, and only gets a few hours of indirect sunlight per day (early morning primarily)
Since debris is an expected issue, I've been putting on the provided cover every day after use, and running the included (1000 gph) pump for the max 10 hours per day, checking flow and rinsing the filter every other day. We filled it with our own personal well water and did change out the filter after the first week because of how much work it did the first week.
I was planning to install aftermarket skimmers to both intakes and a sprayer for the output, after installing a 16 inch vevor sand filter (3000 gph)
Currently wondering about how to best make all of those changes and if there are better ways to manage. I'm not even sure a bigger filter/pump would matter since the intake/output holes are so small.
Also wondering about vacuums that would work with my setup to remove debris from the floor safely.
I'll be posting a different thread for chemical management at a later date.
