A Small Mishap

Keeping a long story short... I did not follow my normal pool opening/cover removal process and managed to dump a good part of the debris on the pool cover into the pool. I'll vacuum it all out tonight. Most of it is too fine to collect with the leaf rake. It will be a lot of vacuuming and backwashing.

That seems to happen a lot.

Maybe next year take a shop vac or a leaf blower to the cover before removal?

Part of my normal procedure is to remove as much debris as possible with a leaf rake and a mulch fork that has plastic tines. it's not good for much else, but it won't puncture the cover. I did not follow my normal procedure this time so did not do that. I also did not remove the cover in my normal process. We were already in the pool putting the liner bead back in its track. I thought I could just take the cover the rest of the way off from there. I was wrong.
