Not pool in signature:
Good day people, so here it goes, a 30 k vinyl IG just installed a RJ60 but this pool is doing something to my brain. This was a trichlor tab pool so last week the TA was at 30 before I dosed with backing soda and is now 60-70 and the ph hadn't come up as I had wished so today with borax 20 mule team got it back to 7.2 perfect. CYA wasn't as expected high as they haven't been really good about the tab manually feeding all summer so I brought it up to 30ish via sock method. Yes checked it this morning and it's sitting pretty at 20. Pool has auto cover which is open now but it's raining. Oh, forgot this morning I added 50 lbs calcium to add to the CH 175 so I can bring the CSI in line so as per PM, it should be in a good spot now or closer to where I want to land. This morning started slamming, already in with 4 gallon @ 10% and 14 gallon @12.5%. What I don't get is the CC is higher now then it was at the beginning of slam like in the 4ppm range. I cleaned the vial with alcohol just to eliminate one more thing. Water was greenish and couldn't see the deep end then it turned nice grayish blue but can't seem to understand the CC and the FC won't come up past 2ppm. Julian dates were July and August. Yes, I brushed the pool to death. What am I overlooking if anything. TIA

Is it possible there’s ammonia in the pool causing higher CC’s? I don’t know enough to know the cause of ammonia but I believe high chlorine and ammonia cause high CC’s.

Did you test immediately and reach target ?

If you can't reach target, it's either bad bleach or ammonia. Yes you believe the CYA held, but it's also the CYA test. So. :ROFLMAO:
