A Possible leak ?

Hello All,
A few weeks back, I drained my pool and filled it with "new" water. After a few days, I started realising that the water level was receeding.
Earlier, I dismissed as a erroneous observation, but later I decided to ascertain it via placing a marker.

Now, I'm pretty sure that the leak is real. The water level did move down below the marked level. It is not too hot outside to blame evaporation for this.
There was no visible leak before the pool drain. I'm quite worried and unsure on how to proceed ahead.
I've already done a visual inspection for crack, and couldn't find any.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

How windy has it been? Wind does more for evaporation than heat does. I can lose an inch a day during the Santa Ana winds.

Have you tried the bucket test? Set a plastic bucket on a step and fill it to the same level as the pool. If the bucket wants to float, set a rock in it. Anyway, if the water level is the same on either side, they should both evaporate at the same rate. If the level drops the same in both, it's evaporation. If the bucket level is higher than the pool after 24 hours, you have a leak.

Turn off your autofill, if you have one, and don’t add water and see where the water level stabilizes. That indicates the level where the leak is. It can be from cracks in or around the skimmers or from the back of light niches where the wire comes in. See if the water loss stops when the pump is off.
