A mess opening...

Hello,
Thank you in advance for any help. I opened the pool this weekend with an accident. I had purchased a new cover to close (Eliminator Xtreme Pool Winter Cover) that allows rain and snow water to enter the pool with excess drianing out the skimmer. Needless to say the leaves and everything on top made it into the pool while removing the cover creating a mess. I started a SLAM this morning but wanted to make sure I'm on the correct path. I followed TFP last year after finding it and having excellent results through the year until this mishap to begin the season. My current readings are:

SWG - Turned off
FC - 34.5 (I know it's high and not sure what happened other than adding to much bleach. I am using PoolMath but it's my first SLAM. Target is 24 per Pool Math)
CC - .5
PH - 7.5 (Taken before the SLAM started)
TA - 70
CH - 500
CYA - 60 or 70 (hardest test to read for me)
SALT - 3100
BOR - 50
TEMP - 64.7

I have been testing every two hours and my FC actually went up by 4 so not sure if I messed up the first time or what. Attached is a picture after the accident before I got everything up and running and tested. It looks about the same still after almost 12 hours.

Be sure you have all the solid organic debris out of the pool, drop your pH to 7.2, and let the FC drift down to SLAM level. Keep your pump running 24 hrs a day, and scoop or vacuum to waste any solid debris OUT of the pool. Check your FC every 2 hrs until it holds at SLAM levels, then maintain it every 4 hrs, then 6 hrs, and so on. Your swamp will take a few days to clear, but you'll know it's done when you can pass the Three Criteria: pass OCLT, CC 0, and water is gin clear.

Be sure to read and re-read SLAM Process while you SLAM.

I just wanted to give those who are in the process of a SLAM some good news. It WORKS!!! I had to SLAM for from Sunday to Friday to clear all three paramaters the last being the OCLT. I never would have thought I could get the pool clear in that time! Good luck to everyone and thank you TFP!
