Hello everyone. my name is Roxanne I have owned Intex pools since my daughter was 7 now she is 40. My favorite things are water, lights and Jeeps. Oh, and my husband and in that order🤣
I usually have no problems with my pool because my pool place is very knowledgeable however I have a short question. Had problems with my pool this year with algae. My question is if I miss some algae under the pool step does that ale the cycle start all over again. My husband bess his heart ordered me a ladder yo be more comfortable. Problem is it is supposed to be the ladder for the outside of the pool so it has many nooks and crannies which makes it impossible to scrub. Question I scrub all of my pool even the extra seal that goes around bottom. Can't get rid of the algae. Can this be part of the reason why I can't get rid of the algae? I figured if I treated it and everything goes well, would the little bit of algae I couldn't reach in the knocks of the ladder start all over again. I would think the treated rest of the treated water would take care of it since it is Impossible for anyone to get out 100% of the algae . Have had pools for 40 years and this is the only time I have had to depened on a pool form. Sorry so long and I am happy to be here. I will try to upload a picture of the stairs when I get outside.

Guess the question wasn't very short. My apologies

Hey Roxie and Welcome !!!

How are you testing ?

To rid yourself of Algae, you need to SLAM Process. You Overnight Chlorine Loss Test to prove it worked. Otherwise, you think you're good with clear water, but algae is microscopic so you only beat it down to where it wasn't overrunning the pool. It'll start growing exponentially again and be green a few weeks later.

The ladder needs to come out and be drained and cleaned. You can squirt bleach all up in there with a turkey baster or such, swish it around, drain it, and then let it fully dry.
