I have notice that when I open the basket between the "wet" and "dry" side of my pump (I think it is called the pump strainer pot), to clean it out, I can hear the water draining out of my attached Pentair cartridge filter. I assume this is because of the pressure loss.
I wanted to know, when this happens, where does the water from inside the filter go ? Does it get drained out to sweage ? Or is it still in the pool "system" ?
I'm asking because, while I was adding stabilizer to my pool using the "sock method", that sock got sucked into the skimmer suction ( I had the cover removed). I had to open the pump strainer to remove the sucked-in sock (thankfully, it made its way all the way there ). Considering, I had just added the solid/granular stabilizer, if the water got drained out from the filter to sweage, I will have to add almost the same amount back. If not, then I'll just wait for the CYA to fully dissolve.
Which way should I go ?
