If you plan to seal the coping, then honed might be better.
I have you to look at the various sealing options for my tumbled field with honed coping.
We have tumbled / honed, not filled and a SWG. With any travertine by a SW pool, you are going to need to seal properly right away. Correctly sealed (routinely), SW should not be an issue for the stone.
