Zero fc, cya 60

I've used this method for the past few summers with no problems but I am trying to help a friend. They've used chlorine for years and this year are having problems with a crystal clear pool testing at zero fc. I tested a sample with the tf-100. Their cya is 60. What could be the problem, they've added lots of shock, chlorine granules?

Having never had to SLAM, I'm not sure if that's what they need to do or not. Any help would be appreciated.

Liquid chlorine (bleach) ASAP! That's what will increase their FC.

For a non-SWG system, and CYA of 60, their FC level should be 7... never below 5.

If they need to SLAM, the FC level for a SLAM is 24.

I think your post is incomplete. A crystal clear with 0 chlorine will not be that way long......as TS says above, you need chlorine, but you also need to post those test results (complete) from your TF-100.

You have a good kit so use it to help us help your friend.
