A mallard couple has made my pool home in the evening! I can't get them to leave. I chased them around tonight with a broom multiple times and they just went to the other end of the pool! Help!!!!
Really though I am not sure how you would be able to get them to find a new "pond". I did read here though that an automated pool cleaner tends to spook them somewhat.
Once they discover that their new pond doesn't have any food in it, they will move on.
Unless you are also using your pool to raise fish, you should be fine.
When we moved into our house, we found an old fake alligator head in the pool shed. I thought WTH and threw it out. Now the neighbors tell me the owner used it to thwart the ducks. Ha ha. I haven't had any....yet.
