Everything about your dig, rebar, and stub-outs looks Super! I'm stunned you have grass up to the perimeter forms. It looks like the dig from MrNica's pool build in Nicaragua - all dug by hand! Wonderful! Take care. Suz.

Gunite tentative on Wednesday. Not much going on tomorrow, PB might have equipment delivered.

On our way to swim class my 5 year old asked if pool will be ready when we get back. That's after about a dozen of times that I told him that it will be many weeks before it's ready. I need to read up on kindergartners' consept of time.

Kimkats can help you with your 5-year-old's concept of time. Building your pool is a great way to get that ball rolling. It's been way too long for me since my boys were that age. Somehow we survived. Good luck! Suz.

Kindergarten teacher here!

To help your child kind of understand when the pool MIGHT be done do this....

Print out a year calendar. Circle today with a green color. Go about 3 weeks over from when the PB said your pool will done and circle it in blue.

Hang this on the fridge and allow your child to put a red x on each day when they get up in the morning. That will help. It gives them something concrete to look at.

You can make it in to a lesson about day/night, how many hours in a day, how many mins. in an hour. You can even go into the rotation of the earth and how we get day and night.

I wonder if you show the calendar to your PB if he will make sure he beats his time line?????? LOL

Wish that worked for older kids, and adults for that matter! It is so hard to be patient.

OH but it does! It is SO nice to take the red marker and cross out another day! The stress comes if you are depending on others to help you meet the end date such as in building a pool. That is why I suggest posting the ending date a couple of weeks out from what the PB says to be on the safe side.
