Adding chemicals with a leak

I need to raise my ph but I have an air leak. Is it fine to still pour borax in the skimmer if I have a leak?

We don't recommend pouring it in the skimmer. Borax is best added by pre-dissolving it in a bucket of water and then pouring that slowly in front of a return.

Now, what kind of leak where?

It's at the connector in front of my pump and the connector on top of my pump. Also going to check the three way O ring today. Is it still okay to add chemical with a leak? I guess pre dissolved will definitely ease my worries.
