3-way Jandy Valve Question

I have a few questions regarding the 3-way Jandy valves on either side of my CL460 cartridge filter. My system is basically set up like this:

• MAIN DRAIN & SKIMMER (JV) INTO PUMP INLET
• FILTER OUTLET (JV) INTO LWR RETURN & UPR RETURN

UPR RETURN has a Polaris 360 hooked into it.

Coming into the pump, what should the skimmer-to-main drain ratio be ? Should I have the main drain mostly (75%) closed off ? And what about coming out of the filter ? Should I have that at 50/50 ?

There is no correct setting. Although usually it is best to have most of the suction coming through the skimmer.

My normal is about 80 skimmer 20 drain. Because I have trees dropping stuff in my pool. When brushing or if dusty I'll move it to 20 skimmer and 80 drain to suck more stuff down the drain.
