Went to work a couple of days and came back to plumbing done and equipment installed and hooked up to gas meter. PB says he is going to start on patio this week. They dropped patio material.

Missed chance to get pics of plumbing before trenches covered. JT

Can we see that pad from a few other angles. Did they leave you enough room to work on the pump and filter? Man I hate it when they put stuff so close together and behind all the plumbing. Makes you wonder if any plumber has ever actually seen someone having to play twister to get the pump basket lid off.

Need opinions
Pauline here...just got some tile samples and like the glass. I really like the Nobel Avignon Aqua and am wondering if I will look back at it down the line and think the color too loud. Also like the bordeaux brown...our facing on the wall, fire pit and spa will be chiseled flagstone. Maybe the Oklahoma or a lighter version.

Thanks for your advice. Pauline

Hi Pauline,
You have picked the right place to get an opinion on tile. Both of your choices are beautiful. I think the Bordeaux Brown was used in the Florida Build Pool [Another edit: This is the tile that was used in their thread but might give you an idea: Alttoglass Miscelanea Olimpia Glass Mosaic]- and everyone thought it was so unique. Personally, I think your Bordeaux Brown would be a great match for the Oklahoma Flagstone and it was one of my choices when looking at my pool.

The Avignon Aqua is also gorgeous. I think CCHopkins (a long and skinny pool) http://www.troublefreepool.com/threads/76442-New-pool-build-in-North-Texas!-A-long-and-skinny-poolor BeadedBiker http://www.troublefreepool.com/threads/78629-New-in-ground-in-swampy-Louisiana-Build-is-ON!!!used Artic Lagoon in theirs but along those lines - you can get an idea. the blue in your Avignon Aqua is beautiful, very eye catching and it would definitely sparkle in the sun. Both of those builds had lighter stone coping etc.

Good luck in your choice - your pool is going to look great in either case.

I LOVE helping someone spend their money! LOL

I like them both! It would be hard to pick. BUT I like the blue one as I would LOVE the way it sparkles and shines! You will already have the brown in your stone work so adding the bling of the blue would really make it stand out.

I love blue too and irridescent sparkles with brownish, greenish so I think it will be great.

Here is what we narrowed to for tile and coping. I really like glass so, it will win out I am sure. Already pretty much sent it to PB as choice. Just need to check grout in daylight. Going to go with gray or onyx grout.

Going to go with Prism Matrix Indigo blue on the left as far as plaster finish. It has glass beads in it....I really like the one on the far right but, got vetoed by Jason.

Updated pics! Tile and fire pit flagstone today. These guys hand chiseled the flagstone today. Then I went around and inspected tile..and they picked off any with chips and replaced for me! This glass tile is so fragile.
