Putting the sand down....

And was wondering if putting a piece of plastic underneath the sand and then attaching piece of plastic to pool to keep anything from getting to base or under the pool. Has anyone tried this before? Is this a bad idea? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!

Yup, mine is like that for the last 3 years with no problems. After leveling the ground I put a 20' x 40' tarp down, laid sand over it, then pulled the other 20' section back over top of it to act like a dual barrier, then placed the pool over top it. I take my pool down every year due to the -35 temps in the winter, and when I do that I just place a few sheets of scrap plywood etc down on the tarop to keep it in place against the wind, etc.

Not one issue for me anyways.
