Hi guys,
I am a new pool owner (and home owner) that inherited a 30' round, 30K gallon Doughboy above ground with the recent purchase of my home. It has a sand filter and a Hayward Power-Flo LX (SP1515) 1.5 HP pump. I was referred here by r/DIY on Reddit.
The pool was not winterized and not opened for the season. We bought the house in April and had the pool cleaned out thoroughly because it had no cover over the winter/spring. I have replaced all hosing due to dry rotting of the old hoses. When I initially plugged the pump in, it ran for about 2 minutes before tripping the breaker. Now it trips the breaker whenever I plug it in.
Any help would be appreciated. I am beginning to regret the pool company guy's offer to tear it down for $150 when they first came to clean it up in April.
