Pump not keeping prime

So I'm in my SLAM process currently and trying to vac up the dead algae ... We had this issue before and during SLAM:

Pump will not hold prime ... Every time I try to vac I lose suction, returns have minimal flow ... I've tried turning off one skimmer and letting air out of filter thru valve to no avail ... Anyone?

You have an air leak somewhere. It is most likely in the vacuum hose, but could be elsewhere. The leak is letting in too much air for the pump to maintain prime.

How do I check for a leak in the hose? Like you would a tire? Water and soap? I dont know that that would work unless the hose is full of water though ... Hmmm ....
